The music on this page may not be for everyone. For me, Jazz is soothing. It helps me relax and open up my stride. Running, especially long distances, is as much a meditative process as a physical workout. After I get past the second or third mile and my breathing evens out and settles into a regular pattern, my mind starts to clear and detaches itself from the rest of my body. Sometimes it’s easier for me to get into a groove listening to Miles or Coltrane than it is rocking out, and what I’ve found is that what I have on the headset is just as important as the cloths I put on, the shoes, or the sunscreen.
