The 1975 release of Yesterdays is a fine compilation of early cuts by the band showcasing the talents of founding members Tony Kaye and Peter Banks who left the group shortly after the release of The Yes Album. Kaye and Banks would briefly regroup in a band called Flash that rivaled the signature Yes sound of the early 70s. Highlights here are Time and a Word and some brilliant guitar work on the remake of Paul Simon’s America, “and Howe!”

The music is drawn from the first two Yes albums and various early singles. It’s one of my faves, and a nice set for and early morning run. Enjoy.

In the morning when you rise, do you open up your eyes, see what I see?  Do you see the same things ev’ry day?
Do you think of a way to start the day, getting things in proportion?  Spread the news and help the world go ’round.
