the King and Eye

The Residents - the King and Eye

This year my daughter resurrected her home made Residents Halloween costume from a couple of years ago. I thought I would do the same. Today’s Runner is one of my favorites from the band.

In their 1989 release The King & Eye, rock’s premier avant-garde theatrical art band the Residents beg the question, “What was Elvis really the King of”? A collection of covers that take a radically different look and uncover the under belly of Rock & Roll’s greatest divine immortal icon. The answer is revealed (the baby king part 4) in the end.

“…we must never forget, that babies are good, and babies are strong, and babies are the best of everything.”

the King and Eye clocks in at just over 52 minutes.
