Today’s Runner is the precious 1980 debute by the Pretenders. An electrifying set of high power guitar, pounding bass and drums, beautifully accented by the dangerously sexy vocals of Chrissie Hynde. This record is packed with hard rocking chords that have been remastered to accentuate the high octane energy and sheer force it unleashed over 30 years ago.

Great fuel for an intense, Friday the 13th, morning jaunt. Just don’t run so hard you end up like James Honeyman-Scott.

  1. Tremendous album the one that really took them to the maesss. I remember anticipating the release of this with a bit of nervousness since it featured a new line-up due to the death of original guitarist James Honeyman-Scott, one of my influences at the time (and still today). But this album really has it all, wrenching out every possible human emotion so musically absolutely stunning. Thanks for bringing this around again.
